The short version
TotPlayer does not run ads, track what your child listens to, or sell personal information. We share the information needed to run accounts and subscriptions with service providers and Paddle.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Rasmus Johan Halldin, operating as TotPlayer. For privacy questions, contact hello@totplayer.com.
What we collect and why
- Account information: your email, account identifier and sign-in details; if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile picture may also be received. We use these to create and secure your account and provide the service (contract and legitimate interests).
- Trial and subscription information: your account trial start and end dates, plan and billing status, renewal and cancellation dates, and identifiers supplied by Paddle. We use these to grant access, administer subscriptions, prevent repeated trials, and meet legal obligations (contract, legitimate interests and legal obligation). We do not store your card number.
- Support messages: the information you email us, used to answer your request (legitimate interests or contract).
- Technical information: IP address, browser/device information and security logs may be processed by our hosting and authentication services to operate and protect the site (legitimate interests). We do not use this for listening analytics.
What stays on your device
Your shelf choices, uploaded audio files, cover pictures, and downloaded songs for offline listening are stored in the browser on your device. Your own files are not uploaded to our servers. Clearing browser data can remove these local copies.
Who receives information
Our hosting, authentication and email providers process information needed to run the app. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record and processes buyer and payment details for checkout, subscription management, payments, taxes and invoicing. Paddle shares billing status and identifiers with us so we can provide access; its handling of checkout data is also governed by Paddle’s privacy notice. We may disclose information to professional advisers or public authorities where needed for legal or regulatory reasons. We do not sell data or share it with advertising networks.
Cookies and local storage
Essential sign-in and device storage keep you signed in and remember your shelf, theme and offline songs. Paddle may use cookies or similar storage in its secure checkout. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear site data in your browser, though doing so may sign you out and erase songs saved on that device.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising networks.
- No analytics or usage tracking.
- No recommendation engine and no profiling of your child.
- No selling or renting personal information.
Children
Accounts are for adults. Children use the app through a parent’s device and never sign in, so we do not knowingly collect any information from a child.
We send only the emails you need: sign-in links, password resets, and confirmations. No newsletters unless you ask for them.
Retention and security
We keep account and subscription records while your account exists and for as long as reasonably needed afterwards to meet legal, tax, dispute-resolution and fraud-prevention obligations. Support messages and security logs are retained only as long as needed for those purposes, then deleted or anonymised. Deleting your account does not automatically clear data stored locally on your devices or records Paddle must retain by law.
We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and encryption in transit. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
International transfers and your rights
Service providers, including Paddle, may process information outside your country. Where UK or EEA data protection law applies, transfers are protected by adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Depending on your location, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your data, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. For UK or EEA requests, we aim to respond within one month. Email hello@totplayer.com to exercise your rights.
Deleting your account
You can request deletion in Account or write to hello@totplayer.com. We will delete your account data subject to records we must keep for legal purposes. To remove songs saved on a device, remove them in the app or clear that browser’s site data.
